SUMMARY

Performs analyst duties in public school setting through the duties listed below as a contingency for stipend payment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  Regular attendance and timeliness is an essential job function to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.

 

Accesses data-bases, summarizes information, and makes reports available to school staff.

 

Understands formative and summative assessment systems and trains other school personnel in their use.

 

Develops systems with school staff to track student progress on an individual, classroom, and school level.

 

Disaggregates assessment results.

 

Organizes data to develop student, classroom, and school profiles. 

 

Organizes data into presentations.

 

Coordinates the compilation of data for school plans.

 

Translates assessment data in order to guide instructional practices.

 

Organizes data for use by collaborative teams.

 

Extracts data from the student information system and organizes it for school use.

 

Works with the school testing coordinator to distribute assessment results.

 

Attends training classes and other district meetings as assigned.

 

Meets regularly with Principal in order to review assignments and set priorities for data work.

 

Facilitates the administration of benchmark assessments and assists teachers and administrators with the interpretation of results.

 

Assists school staff to continuously collect, analyze, and utilize information from a range of data sources, including comparison and trend data about student learning, instruction, program evaluation, and organizational conditions, in order to improve student achievement.

 

Facilitates data collection in conjunction with school accreditation or other school-wide evaluation projects.

 

Provides data to school webmaster for use on school website.

 

Trains teachers to record, collect, summarize, and analyze data from the student information system.

 

Submits an Activity Plan and Progress Report each semester which are approved by the Principal and forwarded to the Director of Assessment & Research.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has supervisory responsibilities over the Assistant Data Coaches (if any).

Ability to operate basic word processing and spreadsheet software and can navigate the internet. Possesses excellent organizational skills.  Ability to sustain involvement with long-term projects and assignments.  Remain flexible when demands and/or assignments change.  Sustain a high level of enthusiasm for the assignment.  Must possess a basic understanding of the operations of a school.  Must reflect a high degree of professionalism and maintain high expectations of self and students.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors Degree; or one to two years directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

This position does not require any certificates or licenses

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and written.  Ability to work effectively with teachers and administrators.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.  Can interpret information when presented in tables, figures, and graphs.  Possess basic knowledge of descriptive statistical measures. 

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
