POSITION DESCRIPTION ADDENDUM FOR:

HEALTH, MOVEMENT, AND FITNESS TEACHER

 

The information listed under Specific Essential Duties is in addition to Elementary or Secondary Teacher position description.  Any additional information that may be listed under the other categories supersedes the information provided on the Basic Teacher position description.

 

SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Teaches knowledge and skills in health education and physical education to secondary students utilizing the course of study prescribed by the District approved curriculum.

 

Works cooperatively with other physical education teachers in planning a balanced physical education program, adapting daily schedules to accommodate weather conditions and to provide time for changing clothes, showers, instruction, exercise, and sports activities.

 

Analyzes, demonstrates, and explains basic skills, knowledge and strategies in formal sports, games, rhythm, and fundamentals of body movement.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid UT Teaching License with proper endorsement as listed below:

 

HEALTH EDUCATION I & HEATLTH EDUCATION II:  Health Education Endorsement

 

MOVEMENT & FITNESS:  Physical Education Endorsement
