DESCRIPTION ADDENDUM FOR:
WORLD LANGUAGE
TEACHER
AND
AMERICAN
SIGN LANGUAGE TEACHER (ASL) (updated 3/10/11)
The
information listed under Specific Essential Duties is in addition to Elementary
or Secondary Teacher position description.
Any additional information that may be listed under the other categories
supersedes the information provided on the Basic Teacher position description.
SPECIFIC
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Teaches knowledge and skills in World Language and/or
American Sign Language to secondary students utilizing the course of study
prescribed by the District approved curriculum.
Develops
student understanding and appreciation of culture of countries where the world
language is spoken or in environments where ASL is utilized.
CERTIFICATES,
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
For World Language (e.g. Spanish, French, Chinese, German,
etc.)-
Valid UT Teaching License with the proper corresponding endorsement for the
teaching assignment. For example, to
teach Spanish a Spanish Endorsement is required.
For
American Sign Language- Valid UT Teaching License with American Sign Language
endorsement.
