POSITION DESCRIPTION ADDENDUM FOR:

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MIGRANT TEACHER

 

The information listed under Specific Essential Duties and Additional Qualifications are in addition to Elementary Teacher position description.  Any additional information that may be listed under the other categories supersedes the information provided on the Elementary Teacher position description.

 

 

REPORTS TO:

Executive Director of Elementary Education

 

DEPARTMENT:

Elementary Education (will assist various schools District wide)

 

SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Recruits pre-k thru high school age students.

 

Coordinates and teaches programs that include extended day, before and after school, in class, Saturday and vacation programs, in home instruction, and distant learning programs as needed.

 

Acts as parent advocate and understands the needs of migrants.

 

Participates on the migrant parent committee.

 

Coordinates resources with community.

 

Attends District and State meetings.

 

Acts as liaison for migrant families and community services such as health, dental, transportation, and counseling services.

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing in English and Spanish.

 

Knowledge of District, State, and Federal Laws and procedures for recruitment and qualifying migrant students.

 

Strong computer skills including spreadsheets, word processing, and internet.

 

Strong budget management skills.
