SUMMARY
A
paraprofessional performs any combination of following instructional tasks to
assist teaching staff:
(A) to provide one-on-one tutoring for eligible students, if the
tutoring is scheduled at a time when a student would not otherwise receive
instruction from a teacher;
(B) to assist provide computer lab opportunities after school
hours
(C) to conduct parental involvement activities;
(D) to provide instructional services to students.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following. Other
duties may be assigned. Regular
attendance and timeliness is an essential job function to perform the essential
duties and responsibilities of the position.
Enhancement
Supervises
and provides instructional services in the after school
Provides instruction for research.
Attends
Parent Teacher conferences and communicates with parents as needed.
Supervises student conduct, discipline,
and behavior management.
Provides
support for students while in the
Communicates with parents of students
sent to the
Provides teacher feedback.
Logs student incidents into Powerschool.
Maintains
a daily receiving log and provide a copy to the attendance office weekly.
Meets with the Assistant Principal
regarding students with chronic behavior problems.

This
job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION
and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's
degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or completed at least
48 semester hours of study at an institution of higher education; or met a
rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate competency through a formal
State assessment.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS
Ability
to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak
effectively before groups of parents or teachers.
REASONING
ABILITY
Ability
to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in
written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables
in standardized situations.
