SUMMARY
Performs receptionist duties in the
Adult Education Department by performing the duties listed below.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following. Other
duties may be assigned. Regular
attendance and timeliness is an essential job function to perform the essential
duties and responsibilities of the position.
Answers
and screens telephone calls to provide information independently, take message,
or transfer calls.
Greets
scheduled visitors and refers to the appropriate area or person.
Answers
incoming calls to provide information, take message, or transfer calls.
Greets
visitors, students, parents, etc.; and refers to area or person.
Updates
and maintains computer and student data files with a variety of student
information.
Enters
data, completes reports, prints and sends notices using Microsoft Office
Programs, internet security systems, and PowerSchool.
Files
student records and completes database reports.
Verifies
and tracks student hours at school.
Works
with public and outside agencies to coordinate and communicate relevant information.
Assists
with GED registration, student orientation, and bus passes.
Maintains bulletin boards at in office
and hallways.
Other
responsibilities as assigned by the Director.

EDUCATION
and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's
degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or
technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES,

LANGUAGE
SKILLS
Ability
to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak
effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS
Ability
to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate,
ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING
ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and
deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited
standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions
furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Mental and emotional
stability and reasoning is required.
